Tōtara Team Country Cluster Tabloids
Each year, our Country cluster schools gather together in a variety of ways. Our juniors meet in Term One for Tabloids. This year, the event will look slightly different to previous years, with a focus on creating relationships in our wider community.
We look forward to visiting Tamahere Model Country School on Tuesday, 11th March. The event will run from 9.45am - 12.00pm.
The event aims to encourage mixing and mingling and getting to know other students in our wider community. And to experience being in another school for a visit. Tamahere has lined up the new format of the event so students can choose activities and have some agency with this as to where their interests are. There will be several exploratory and creative activities on offer as well as sporting opportunities.
Most students will travel by bus to Tamahere, with a small handful travelling by car. The total cost for this trip will be $3
Whaanau Hui - Thursday 13th March 2pm
Kia ora Matangi Whaanau,
We welcome you all to attend our first Whaanau Hui of 2025. This will be held on Thursday 13th March at 2pm in the Koowhai Hub.
The focus of this hui is to gain whaanau voice and ideas on Te Ao Maaori at Matangi School and how we can strengthen these practices at our kura.
If you are unable to attend, but would like to share your thoughts or ideas, please email Scott Johnson - sjohnson@matangi.school.nz
This hui is open to all members of our school community
We hope to see you there!
Ngaa mihi,
Scott Johnson
Parent Teacher Interviews are on Wednesday 19th & Thursday 20th March
This is a meeting between you and the teacher to discuss goals for your child.
We have arranged 10-minute time slots for the parent/teacher interviews. If you have more than one child, you might like to have a break between interviews. We would be grateful if all our parents/caregivers kept to the timetable to ensure smooth running.
The booking link is in Hero under School Bookings. All Caregivers were sent a notification from Hero when it opened. If you are having trouble booking please contact the Office.
What do I need to do to prepare for this?
Before the meeting:
- Book a time and put it in your diary.
On the day:
- Your child’s teacher will discuss how your child has settled into the school year and the goals that they have set.
- You might be able to provide us with more information about your child.
Your job:
- Please arrive at the scheduled time - we want to best utilise our time with you. Unfortunately we won’t be able to make up for lost time at the end of your time slot.
- Enjoy the opportunity to see your child’s learning environment and meet with their teacher/s.
- Celebrate your child's progress to date.
- You may like to think of a goal you have for your child this year and bring it along to share.
- If you require more time with the teacher, make another appointment that best suits you both.
- We would encourage you to make arrangements for the care of any pre-schoolers in your family please..
After the Parent/Teacher Interview:
- Continue to celebrate your child's successes and support their goals.
- Keep in contact with your child’s teacher.
Important things to remember:
We really value these Parent/Teacher meetings. If you are not able to make the allocated times, please contact your child’s teacher to find a time that suits you both best.
This account number has changed, please ensure you use the new one.
