We are sure you will have heard that there is a planned strike action from 7am until 7pm on Thursday 23 October by employees who are members of NZEI Te Riu Roa and who are covered by the Primary Teachers' Collective Agreement. 

The Education and Training Act requires the formal notification of the strike to be made three days before it commences, so you will receive formal notification of the strike at on 20 October. 

NZEI Te Riu Roa members are taking industrial action because the Government has failed to provide offers in negotiations that will ensure educators get the resources we need to support tamariki or the pay that will attract and keep quality professionals in our schools.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this will cause our families.  The school and Tui House will be closed that day.  There will not be enough staff left at school to have adequate supervision.
