For Term 4, 2025 Rimu 1 would like all students at Matangi School to reduce the amount of packaging in lunchboxes on Tuesdays. We are calling this Waste Free Tuesday. We have been learning about reducing, reusing and recycling and we thought this was something we could do to make a difference. We wrote letters to persuade Michaela of our idea and she thought it would be good to try it. Rimu 1 have also created posters and put them up around the school to remind students and have spoken at assembly to give students ideas like bringing yogurt in a reusable container and buying a big bag of chips and putting some in their lunchbox each day rather than buying individual bags. Rimu 1 would really appreciate it if more and more students got on board with Waste Free Tuesdays.
