Help Shape the Future of Matangi School at our upcoming School Community Meeting
This is a special opportunity to come together as a community to help shape the tikanga (values, customs, and way of doing things) at our school. By sharing ideas, listening to others, and being part of the conversation, you can help create a school environment that truly reflects the heart and values of our whole community. No kids at school, no problem - we still encourage you to come along.
Tea, coffee, and light refreshments will be provided
Date: Tuesday, 10th June 2025
Time: 7.00pm - arrive from 6.45pm onwards
Location: Matangi School, Kahikatea Hub - Come through the main gates at the front of the school.
Our community hui is a chance to share your thoughts and ideas for our school. Some of the questions that will be discussed will be around these key ideas:

What makes our school special? What are we doing well? What makes you feel proud?

What could be even better? What’s not quite working for your child or whānau, and how might things look if they improved?

Looking ahead – Imagine it’s three years from now. What would make you say, “I’m so proud of our school”? What does success look like to you?
We’ll also be taking a moment to reflect on the values that guide our school. Are they still a true reflection of what matters to us as a community?

Are the current values still fit for purpose?

Is anything missing?

Do we need to refresh, remove or add to them?
We’ll explore how we can all - students, staff, and whānau - model these values in our everyday language and actions, and what that could look like across our school community.
We’ll also take some time to look at our behaviour approach, much of which is shaped by evidence and guidance from the Ministry. We welcome your voice in how we can make sure our systems align with our shared vision and values.
No idea is too big or too small. Your insights will help us strengthen what matters most and continue to create a school environment that empowers every learner.
